The Holly Simple Tarot deck includes 78 hand-illustrated major and minor arcana cards, along with a cheat sheet card and an artist trading card. Holly Simple’s unique style is evident in the cards, which are housed in a custom-designed metallic-mirrored, classic poker-style tuckbox. The cards are printed on indestructible classic playing card stock, ensuring durability and ease of use.

Symbolism and Themes

This tarot deck reflects Holly’s personal interpretations of traditional tarot symbolism, creating new characters and stories while maintaining the essence of the iconic Rider-Waite deck. The major and minor arcana have been reimagined, offering a fresh and contemporary take on the classic tarot themes. The influence from the Rider-Waite deck is most noticeable in the major arcana, with the suits of cups, wands, swords, and pentacles also receiving a unique treatment.

User Experience

The deck comes with a zine-inspired guidebook, which is Holly’s transformation of her original field notes and sketches into a comprehensive guide. This guidebook serves as a helpful resource for understanding the background and inspiration behind each card. The size of the box is 2.5″ by 4.5″, while the guidebook measures 5.5″ by 8.5″, making the deck portable and easy to handle.
