Overview
The “Tarot of A.E. Waite Giant” is an English version of the iconic Rider-Waite Tarot deck, known for its foundational role in modern tarot. This edition features enlarged cards, making it an invaluable tool for beginners and seasoned tarot readers alike. The deck’s larger size allows for a deeper and more detailed exploration of Pamela Colman Smith’s vibrant and archetypal imagery from the original 1909 edition.
Design and Artwork
The deck preserves the original colors and backside designs of the first edition from 1909, honoring the artistic integrity and vision of Pamela Colman Smith. Her illustrations on all 78 cards are renowned for their ability to convey tarot symbolism vividly and intuitively, allowing for interpretations without constant referral to the accompanying booklet.
Educational Value
The Giant Rider-Waite Deck is especially beneficial for those new to tarot. Its larger card format (99 x 169mm) enables learners to easily observe and connect with the intricate details and symbols in each card. This feature enhances the learning experience, making the tarot’s rich symbolism more accessible to novices.
User Experience
For both beginners and experienced tarot practitioners, the giant cards encourage focused and concentrated readings. The deck allows readers to immerse themselves in each card’s imagery and meanings, facilitating a deeper understanding of the tarot’s messages.

Mooie duidelijke kaarten, precies wat ik ervan had verwacht.
I am a huge fan of the RWS Tarot. Even though I have the deepest respect for the artists who use their creative energy to conceive clones and indie decks, IMHO, nothing beats the good old RWS. The work of Arthur Waite and Pamela Colman Smith is tunning. It is so rich, thoughtful, intemporal, and yet simple.
This very edition of AGM Urania does certainly justice to this Tarot-monument. It comes in a neat, sturdy cardboard box. The cards are huge, so shuffling might be a bit difficult, but they are perfect for study, meditation, and/or making videos. The cardboard is thin, but the quality is excellent. This applies to the printing as well. The colors are faithful to the original edition, and the deck has a very authentic look and feel. The backside is original. And, last but not least, it is printed in Europe, which might be a greener choice.
It comes with a 96 pages detailed LWB (all in English) and a replacement warranty, which you probably won’t need as this publisher is very reliable.
I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and can definitely recommend it to all fellow RSW lovers 🙂
