The Spacious Tarot, created by Carrie Mallon and Annie Ruygt, is an enchanting 78-card tarot deck complemented by a 21-card Expansion Pack. This deck goes beyond traditional tarot imagery, offering a blend of familiar and alternative perspectives. The artwork, rooted in earthy and mystical themes, invites users to immerse themselves in each scene’s colors and textures. With its nature-based illustrations and cosmic elements, the deck captures the essence of each card’s feeling, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced tarot readers.
Material and Quality
Each card in The Spacious Tarot is printed on 350 GSM, 100% post-consumer recycled card stock, measuring 70x112mm. The cards feature borderless imagery with slightly rounded corners, designed for ease of handling and a visually immersive experience. The deck and guidebook are housed in a sturdy one-piece box with a flip cover lid, complete with a ribbon for easy card removal.
User Experience
This deck is an independently created project, reflecting the creators’ vision of an intuitive and exploratory tarot experience. The accompanying 137-page guidebook provides insightful interpretations and guidance for each card, enhancing the user’s journey through the tarot. My absolute favourite tarot deck!
I love the imagery and especially that it doesn’t have any people depicted. This allows for a wide-ranging application and interpretation, which I feel would suit most people. Additionally, the use of non-gendered titles is accommodating, such as using ‘Guardian’ for the Queens in the various suits, or ‘The Hanged One’ as the Hanged Man. Personally, I find this incredibly useful and expansive.
The illustrations are stunning! Indeed, the whole energy is spacious and seems to allow for and encourage a deep breath. The expansion pack supports this and brings some beautiful zodiac, elemental, and ‘big’ themes to the traditional tarot.
The guidebook is extremely useful, with supportive questions given in each description that allows for some thought-provoking readings and insights. The descriptions are in-depth and often give a slightly less common perspective on the card, which is a breath of fresh air.
I often use this in combination with the Seed & Sickle Oracle, which complements the imagery and energy.

Magnifiques cartes au fini mate et tranche neutre. La boite est épaisse et très qualitative. Les cartes glissent très bien. L’univers des cartes nous transporte et nous inclus dans leur lecture. Je l’adore !
