Kai Uwe Faust
Kai Uwe Faust, born in Germany, grew up in a strict Christian family, from which he soon broke away. His fascination with mythology and history began at a young age. He loved drawing and dreamed of a job at Disney. Gradually, he delved into the myths of our Northern European ancestors and developed a keen interest in animistic and shamanistic traditions. After various trainings, he started working in Astrid Köpfler's tattoo studio, visited Viking and medieval markets, and received an invitation to work as a guest artist at Kunsten på Kroppen in Copenhagen. Here, he refined his traditional tattoo art and became one of the most sought-after Nordic-style tattoo artists. In 2013, he published his book "Nordic Tattoo - Black Art" and in 2014, he founded the music project HEILUNG with Christopher Juul and Maria Franz. This shamanic-spiritual band performs large rituals instead of regular concerts. Since 2017, HEILUNG has been touring more frequently with growing success, leading Kai to end his tattoo career to focus solely on ritual music performances.
