Nathalie Hertz

Nathalie Hertz is a talented artist known for her unique tarot card designs. She was born in Paris and graduated from the Reims School of the Arts, where she specialized in medieval and heroic fantasy art. Nathalie draws significant inspiration from nature, which is evident in her vibrant and detailed artwork. Her style is dramatic, often utilizing gouache, acrylic, and ink.

Hertz's first tarot deck, the Fantastical Tarot, was published in 1999 by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. This deck features a blend of fantasy and gothic elements, making it visually striking and unique. In 2001, she released the Vampire Tarot, known for its compelling gothic artwork. Her third major deck, the Faerie Tarot, was inspired by the flora and fauna of the French countryside and blends fantasy, whimsy, and nature into its design. Each card in this deck is enriched with motifs representing different seasons, adding a layer of thematic depth.

Currently, Nathalie Hertz resides in Lille, in the north of France, where she continues to create art surrounded by her family and a menagerie of animals. Her work remains highly regarded in the tarot community for its imaginative and richly detailed illustrations.
