Some decks are made for reading. Others are made for learning. The AlterLife Astrology by Sasha Marchetti is mostly the latter: a visual educational system for understanding the foundations of astrology.
It consists of 62 cards covering all the components of a birth chart. Planets, zodiac signs, houses, aspects, elements, modalities. Each concept gets its own card with instantly recognisable symbolism and colour. The included Personal Placements Journal is a workbook that guides you step by step through deciphering your own chart.
The Marchetti style is recognisable by its rich colours and layered detail. Sasha Marchetti, daughter of tarot artist Ciro Marchetti, works with the same precision and visual depth. The cards are clear: no abstract interpretations, but straightforward images that translate astrological concepts directly into visual form.
Each card focuses on a single component. A planet gets a card, a zodiac sign gets a card, a house gets a card. That makes the system easy to navigate. You can lay cards side by side to see the connections between, say, your Moon in Capricorn and the tenth house.
This is not a deck for answering daily questions. It is designed to help you learn astrology. The journal serves as a practical guide: you fill in your own placements and use the cards to understand those placements visually and symbolically.
The system works well if you already know where your Sun, Moon and Ascendant are, but do not yet understand exactly what that means. The cards give you that insight without having to work through thick reference books first.

Yes. The system is specifically designed to teach beginners the basic principles visually. You do need your own birth data to fill in the journal.
What is the difference from a traditional astrology book?
This system works visually and practically. You learn by doing, by filling in your own chart and laying the cards side by side. It is less theoretical than most handbooks.
