This is a deck of forty cards. No more, no less. It makes no big claims, follows no elaborate philosophy, includes no separate bookmark. What it does have: clear symbolism, a manageable format, and instructions in several languages.
The publisher is Lo Scarabeo, an Italian studio that has been producing oracle and tarot cards for decades. This deck fits their approach: accessible, visually considered, no barriers.
The imagery references early divination tradition. You see that in the figures, the patterns, the way symbols sit beside each other. It is not abstract, not overly decorated, not minimal. It sits in between.
Each of the forty cards carries its own motif. The illustrations are built from shapes, lines and recognizable forms. Colours are muted, not bright. The overall feel is calmer than modern oracle cards, but less heavy than classic tarot.
The format is 70 x 110 mm. That is slightly smaller than standard playing cards, but large enough to see the details. The card stock is solid. It shuffles easily.
The guidebook is multilingual: English, Italian, Spanish, French and German. Each card gets a short description. No elaborate stories, but enough to get started. The deck works for daily draws, simple spreads, or just as a visual anchor for reflection.
Draw a card in the morning and let the image settle before you read the text. Sometimes the symbolism says more than the explanation.
This deck is designed for intuitive use. The symbolism is accessible enough for beginners, and the set is compact enough to carry with you. If you already work with cards, you will recognize familiar motifs and can begin without instructions.
Because the guidebook is written in five languages, this deck also works well if you prefer to read in a language other than English.
Do the cards themselves have text on them?
No. The cards contain symbols and figures, no text. The guidebook includes explanations in multiple languages.
How many cards are in this deck compared to standard tarot?
A classic tarot deck has 78 cards. This deck consists of 40 cards and does not follow tarot structure. It is a standalone oracle system.
