Color Meditation Cards - 36 cards with colour as focal point
There are decks that ask you questions, decks that tell you stories, and decks that simply give you a point of rest. The Color Meditation Cards by Silvana Alasia do the latter. No symbolism to decode, no elaborate meanings. What you get is colour, shape and stillness.
The cards are published by Lo Scarabeo and consist of abstract watercolours in monochrome tones. Each card shows a Sanskrit symbol that corresponds to the colour frequency of the image. The format is compact (88 x 125 mm), the cardstock is glossy laminated and the corners are rounded.
How the cards work
Each card focuses on one colour. That colour fills the entire card and is rendered in soft, flowing watercolour shapes. The Sanskrit symbol sits centrally or at the edge, depending on the composition.
You draw a card, place it in front of you and use the colour as an anchor during your meditation or breathing exercise. The abstraction helps: there is nothing to distract you, no narrative pushing itself forward. The image does what it needs to do and then leaves you alone.
The accompanying booklet is brief and multilingual. It gives short instructions per card and explains how you can use colour as a meditative tool. No therapy claims, no twenty-page chakra manuals. Just what you need to get started.
Place the card at eye level and let your gaze rest softly on the colour. Breathe in through your nose, breathe out through your mouth, and let the colour move with your breath in your mind.
Who this works for
This is not an oracle deck and not a tarot deck. You will not get answers from it, no predictions, no explanations about your situation. What it does do is create a visual point of rest.
If you are used to working with colour, or if you simply need a physical object during meditation, then these cards do what they promise. They are also suitable for people who are just starting to meditate and need a concrete focal point.
