Crystal Coffin Tarot november 2026

Crystal Coffin Tarot

Friendly ghosts, witches, and a cheerful little skull that guides you through every card: the Crystal Coffin Tarot takes Halloween imagery and builds a fully structured 78-card tarot around it. Heather Lynn, a New England-based graphic designer and illustrator with over twenty years of professional experience, drew a cast of characters that are spooky without ever feeling threatening. The guidebook writes card meanings as poetic couplets, two lines per card, to help the meanings stick.

  • Language: English
  • Quality: Sturdy cardstock, designed for frequent use
  • Contents: 78 cards + 92-page illustrated guidebook

Crystal Coffin Tarot - Halloween-themed tarot deck for beginners

Some tarot decks aim to impress. This one aims to make you smile, and still say something worth hearing. The Crystal Coffin Tarot by Heather Lynn leans fully into Halloween imagery, gothic fantasy figures, and a friendly little skull that appears card after card as a recurring guide. The tone is light, but the structure is standard tarot: 78 cards, Major and Minor Arcana, four suits.

Lynn works as a graphic designer, illustrator, and professional artist in New England, with more than twenty years of experience. Her speciality is mixed-media art dolls, and that instinct for character and color shows up in every figure in this deck. The illustration style is vivid and playful, moving easily between funny and quietly poignant.

What you see on the cards

Ghosts, witches, friendly monsters, and other creatures populate the cards, each drawn with a light hand and saturated color. The skull returns in different forms across the deck and holds the whole thing together visually. The imagery draws on Halloween motifs and gothic fantasy, but the atmosphere is never grim.

Cards are color-coded: Major Arcana and each of the four suits of the Minor Arcana have their own distinct color. That means you can identify which group you are looking at before reading a word. Useful when you are still learning the structure.

The guidebook

The 92-page guidebook gives each card an upright and reversed meaning, written as a two-line poetic couplet. That is a deliberate choice: short, rhythmic text is easier to memorize than long prose descriptions. The guidebook also includes tips for crystal charging and lunar rituals, and a six-card layout called the Crystal Coffin Tarot Spread.

The tone throughout matches the deck: accessible, illustrated, and direct. Nothing assumes prior knowledge, and the poetic format doubles as a memory aid.

Who this deck is designed for

The publisher describes this as an ideal first deck for beginners, and the design supports that. Color-coding, short mnemonic couplets, and an illustrated guidebook all lower the learning curve. The deck was printed on premium cardstock and designed for frequent use.

The skull that appears across the deck is more than a visual motif. It works as an anchor point during readings: once you recognize it, you know exactly what system you are working with.
