The Dreaming Way Lenormand is a complete Petit Lenormand deck of 36 cards. The illustrations are by Korean artist Kwon Shina, and the guidebook was written by Lynn Araujo. Together they make a deck that is both visually distinctive and straightforward to use.
The Lenormand system works with 36 fixed cards that build a story together.
The cards feature watercolour illustrations in soft, light tones: blue, pink, yellow and lilac. Each card has a numbered circle at the top and its name in capitals at the bottom, followed by the corresponding playing card value. The Dog card, for example, reads 'DOG · 10♥' with the number 18 in the circle above. The card backs show harlequin figures and buildings in blue and turquoise tones.
The box is light blue with turquoise corner decorations. The front shows a watercolour figure of a woman in a red-orange dress and red hat. 'Dreaming Way' appears in decorative script with 'LENORMAND' beneath it. The names of Kwon Shina and Lynn Araujo are printed at the bottom of the box.
Kwon Shina is a Korean artist whose work is described as having a light, almost ethereal quality. Lynn Araujo wrote the guidebook and is an expert in tarot and divination. Its 92 pages include keywords, quotations and interpretations for all 36 cards. Lynn Araujo writes that paying close attention to the direction of gaze and the posture of figures on the cards supports reading.
The illustrations are designed so that meanings are visually recognisable, which makes the deck accessible for those just starting out with the Lenormand system, as well as for experienced readers. The bridge format of 63.5 x 88.9 mm makes the cards comfortable to shuffle and fit neatly on a table for a Grand Tableau spread, where all 36 cards are laid out at once.
