Element Tarot Book/Deck Set - colour coding for faster recognition

Many tarot decks let you discover the meaning of a card through symbols. This deck uses colour as its primary recognition point. Each Minor Arcana suit has a fixed colour tied to its element. Water is turquoise, fire is yellow, air is purple, earth is green.

Staci Mendoza and David Bourne designed this system to speak more directly to your intuition. Instead of having to read all the details on a card first, you see at a glance which energy is at play. That makes the deck suitable for beginners, but also for readers who work quickly or want to interpret multiple cards side by side.

How the imagery works

The symbols are abstract enough to leave room for association. No fully rendered figures or scenes like in a Rider-Waite deck, but fields, lines and shapes that you fill in yourself.

The Major Arcana follows its own colour logic, with each arcanum assigned a specific shade that matches its character. The book explains how the colours correspond to astrological and numerological meanings.

The overall look is modern and graphic, with sharp contrasts and few embellishments. That makes the cards clear, but also sober.

The 160-page book

The accompanying book describes each card in detail. For each card you get the basic meaning, the astrological link, the numerological connection and the element correspondence. There is also an explanation of the colour symbolism for each card.

The book does not include spreads, though it does offer some general guidance on interpreting colour combinations in a reading. The emphasis is on understanding the system behind the deck, not on practical examples.

Draw a card and look only at the colour first. Ask yourself: what energy matches that? Only then read the description in the book. That way you train your own colour associations.

Staci Mendoza and David Bourne collaborated on this project to translate traditional tarot structures into a visual system that relies less on historical iconography and more on direct perception. Mendoza focused on the symbolic logic, Bourne on the graphic execution.
