Enchanted Earth Oracle - seasons and symbols in 36 painted cards
36 cards is not a large deck. You get familiar with them quickly, which gives you room to look beyond the immediate meaning. The Enchanted Earth Oracle by Jessica Lahoud and Amanda Clark does not build on tarot or any existing system. It builds on seasons, natural elements, and the animals and plants that belong to them.
Amanda Clark's style sits somewhere between folk painting and storybook. She works in acrylic and oil, builds images in layers. The result is warm, with a soft glow that stands out when you lay the cards down.
What you see on the cards
Each image is a nature scene: a fox among birch branches, a hare in the grass, wildflowers, mushrooms, moss. You also see celestial imagery like moon and sun, or landscapes that represent a season. The images are recognisable, not abstract.
The themes revolve around growth, change, protection and rest. Each card belongs to a phase in nature, such as bloom, decay or the sleeping winter field. You can use that rhythm to track your own year, or to reflect on where you are now.
How you work with it
The guidebook gives a description for each card and explains the symbols. Animals and plants have fixed meanings here, based on folklore and natural cycles. You can draw one card as a daily focus, or lay out three for past, present and future.
What stands out is that the cards also lend themselves to outdoor use. Draw a card and see if you encounter the animal or plant during the day. That adds an extra dimension to the reading.
Lay the cards beside a window or take them along on a walk. The connection to the outside world makes the images stronger.
