Moonology – Das Mond-Orakel - lunar phases as a practical reference framework
Some decks are based on a philosophy. This deck is based on a natural rhythm everyone knows: the lunar cycle. Yasmin Boland, an Australian astrologer, has created a set of cards that links the eight main moon phases to everyday questions.
The German edition, Moonology – Das Mond-Orakel, is identical to the English version in image and structure. The cards are in German, the guidebook as well. That makes the deck accessible for those who prefer to read in their mother tongue.
What you see on the cards
Each card shows a lunar phase or a position of the moon in a zodiac sign. The imagery is clear and uncluttered: nocturnal tones, stars, symbols that refer to astrology. The card bears the name of the phase or position, sometimes a short description.
The guidebook explains the energy of each phase and how you can use it. For example: at New Moon it is about beginning, at Full Moon about closing and letting go. This is not symbolism you have to interpret yourself, but information you can use directly.
How this deck works
Moonology offers a practical system. You draw a card, read the phase or position, and look in the guidebook what that energy means for your question. It is not so much about intuition, but about knowledge of the moon's position and what Boland says belongs to it.
Those already working with lunar phases will recognise much. Those who have not yet done so are given a recognisable rhythm. The deck assumes that the moon influences your mood and your timing, and that you can work with that consciously.
Draw a card at the start of the week and check the current moon phase. See whether the card matches what you want to undertake that week or what you prefer to avoid.

Questions we often get
Do you need to see the moon or know the current position to work with this deck?
No. You can draw a card without looking at the sky. It does help to know which phase the moon is currently in, because then you can compare the card to reality. That is not in the deck itself, but can be found freely via moon calendars.
Is this a deck for beginners?
Yes. The guidebook explains what each lunar phase means. You do not need prior knowledge of astrology. Those who already have astrological knowledge will find few new insights, but can use the deck as a visual aid.
