Barbieri is an Italian fantasy illustrator with a long track record. He previously drew the Barbieri Fantasy Tarot, the Barbieri Zodiac Oracle, and Star Dragons. The Night Fairies Oracle Cards sit within that body of work, but focus specifically on night and twilight as their theme.
The illustrations show fairy beings and nocturnal figures in detailed, dreamlike settings. Colours run deep and saturated, with twilight as the binding element throughout. This is not a light or airy fairy deck. The imagery is adult in register and carries the characteristic force of Barbieri's fantasy style.
