Night Fairies Oracle

Night Fairies Oracle Cards - 32 nocturnal fantasy cards by Paolo Barbieri

Twilight is the pivot point of this deck. Not full night, not day, but the moment in between when light withdraws and something else begins. Paolo Barbieri builds his illustrations around that threshold atmosphere: deep, dark colours, fairy beings in dramatic poses, backgrounds packed with detail and depth.

Barbieri is an Italian fantasy illustrator with a long track record. He previously drew the Barbieri Fantasy Tarot, the Barbieri Zodiac Oracle, and Star Dragons. The Night Fairies Oracle Cards sit within that body of work, but focus specifically on night and twilight as their theme.

What you see on the cards

The illustrations show fairy beings and nocturnal figures in detailed, dreamlike settings. Colours run deep and saturated, with twilight as the binding element throughout. This is not a light or airy fairy deck. The imagery is adult in register and carries the characteristic force of Barbieri's fantasy style.

The cards measure 88 by 125 mm, a compact size that sits well in the hand. At 32 cards, this is a smaller oracle than many sets, which keeps it focused without feeling thin.

The guidebook

The cards come with a multilingual guidebook containing descriptions for each card and spread suggestions. Languages include English, Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese. The spreads are visual enough to follow regardless of which language you read.

If you already work with oracle cards and do not need extensive instruction, 32 cards is a comfortable number for a daily draw.

Questions we often get

Is English included in the guidebook?
Yes. The guidebook is multilingual and includes English, alongside Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

How does this differ from the Barbieri Fantasy Tarot?
The Barbieri Fantasy Tarot follows the classic tarot structure with 78 cards. The Night Fairies Oracle Cards contains 32 cards and works as an oracle, without that fixed tarot framework. The theme is also more specific: night, twilight and fairy beings are the focus throughout.
