Nocturna Oracle deck - from twilight to dawn in 48 cards
Most oracle decks work with daylight. This one works with what the night makes visible. Nocturna Oracle by Megan Wyreweden follows the hours between sunset and sunrise, with animals, plants and landscapes that live in that rhythm.
The theme is concrete: nocturnal nature. Owls, moths, flowers that open after dark. The cards are fully borderless, so each image runs to the edge. The gilded edges give the whole deck a finished look.
What you see on the cards
The illustrations are made with a combination of acrylic, gouache and digital editing. The colours are saturated, sometimes almost fluorescent. Lots of purple, blue and dark green, with accent colours in gold and warm orange.
Each card shows a single moment or a single creature. A bat under a full moon. A moth on a leaf. A forest path in the blue hour. The images are poetic but not abstract. You always see what is there.
Each card has a keyword printed on it. The guidebook gives a short description per card and a few sentences on what the image might mean in a reading. No elaborate stories, but enough to work with.
How the material feels
The cards are printed on 350 gsm linen cardstock. That means a texture you can feel: not smooth, but not rough either. It shuffles easily and does not glare. The matte finish keeps fingerprints mostly out of sight.
The size is 70 x 120 mm, comparable to standard tarot cards. On the large side for smaller hands, but not unmanageable. The box is sturdy, two-piece, with gold foil on the outside.
Draw a card before bed and leave it on your nightstand. Look the next morning at what has stayed with you. That matches the pace of this deck.
What this deck is good at
Dreamwork. Nocturnal reflection. Questions about the subconscious. The imagery connects directly to that. This is not a deck for quick answers or daily planning. It asks for quiet and time.
The guidebook is compact and aimed at beginners. The keywords on the cards mean you can also work without the booklet. That makes the deck accessible without making it simple.
