Oracle of the Chimeras - chimera figures by Shobby and Marchese
Oracle of the Chimeras is a 40-card oracle deck. Each card shows a chimera: a figure that combines animal traits with a human form. The deck was made by Marina Shobby and Dobrila Marchese and published by Llewellyn Publications.
What the cards look like
The box is sage green with beige accents and a decorative art nouveau frame with floral motifs. The back of every card is blue-grey with an art nouveau leaf pattern in a lighter shade. The card fronts use beige and cream as their base, with individual accent colours: card 18 has a lavender background with butterfly motifs, while card 26 works exclusively in sage green, white and light blue.
The illustration style varies across the deck. Some cards have a manga quality, others feel more historical in tone. Card 5 shows an elephant-human hybrid in a red coat with a lace collar, holding a walking stick. Card 3 shows a cat-human hybrid figure with a small hat and tiger stripes. Card 18 shows a standing figure with animal ears and a tail, wearing a cape and holding a lantern. Each card carries only a number, no written text.
