What you see on the cards
Rassouli paints in a style he calls Fusionart: flowing forms, warm and intense colours, figures that dissolve into one another. The imagery fits the Sufi tradition from which Rumi wrote. The paintings are ecstatic in tone, radiant and full of movement.
The cards bring Rassouli's paintings and Rumi's poetry into direct relationship. That is not a decorative choice. It is the core idea of the deck: two art forms reaching toward the same thing.
How you work with it
The guidebook is not optional with this deck. Those who get the most from it read the poem, Fairchild's interpretation, and sometimes a ritual, all for a single card. That takes time, and that is exactly the point.
This deck suits meditation, shadow work, and moments when you want to sit with a question rather than resolve it quickly. It is not a deck you reach for in passing.

About Alana Fairchild and Rassouli
Alana Fairchild is an Australian writer and spiritual teacher who has created a large number of oracle and tarot decks, nearly all published by Blue Angel. Her texts are accessible and not tied to any specific religion or tradition.
Rassouli is an Iranian-American artist who emigrated to the United States as a teenager and now lives in Southern California. He has published over 24 books on art, poetry and mystical concepts, and painted two large murals for the city of Los Angeles. His Sufi Wisdom Oracle won best oracle deck at the International Tarot Foundation Carta Awards 2020.
