The medicine wheel is a spiritual framework from indigenous traditions in which stones are placed at fixed positions in a circle, each carrying its own meaning and direction. This deck translates that system into 40 cards, with each card representing one stone and its place in the wheel.

Linda Ewashina trained as a nurse and later combined that background with spiritual practice. She works as a Reiki Master and teacher, intuitive life reader and Angel therapy practitioner, and has spent more than fifteen years working with the medicine wheel. Jody Bergsma, an award-winning illustrator originally known for her children's books, created the imagery. Her Natural Elements paintings draw on her relationship with nature.

What comes in the deck

The 60-page guidebook connects each card to a specific life question and includes several spreads. The deck also comes with a fold-out poster measuring 43 x 51 cm, showing the layout of the medicine wheel. You place the cards on the poster, making each position in the wheel visible.

Every card carries a short prayer or message. That makes the deck practical for daily reflection as well as longer, more structured sessions using a full spread.

How you work with it

You can draw a single card for daily reflection, or unfold the poster and carry out a full spread with the cards placed in their positions within the wheel. The guidebook describes both approaches and provides life questions for each card.

This is not a standard tarot or oracle deck. The structure of the medicine wheel is the foundation, and the meaning of a card depends partly on where it sits in the wheel. Some familiarity with the medicine wheel helps, though the guidebook covers the basics.

Unfold the poster and place the cards physically in their positions. The wheel takes on a different presence when the spatial relationships between the stones become visible.

Linda Ewashina brings together a nursing background with more than fifteen years of spiritual practice centred on the medicine wheel. She works as a Reiki Master and teacher, intuitive life reader and Angel therapy practitioner. That combination of practical and spiritual experience comes through in the tone of the card texts.

Jody Bergsma is an award-winning illustrator, widely known for her children's books and her Natural Elements series of paintings. Her work connects mythic imagery with natural elements, giving the cards a calm, grounded quality.

Do I need to know the medicine wheel already to use this deck?
The guidebook explains the structure of the wheel and describes the position of each stone. Some background knowledge helps, but is not a firm requirement. The 60 pages of accompanying text are enough to get started.

What is the poster for?
The poster shows the full medicine wheel with all the stone positions marked. You place the cards on the corresponding spots, making the spatial relationships within the wheel visible. It can also serve as a reference alongside a single-card drawing.
