Most tarot cards send you back to a guidebook the moment you forget what a card means. This deck does not do that. George R. Bennett printed the keywords and explanations directly on each card, for both the upright and reversed positions.

It is designed as a practice deck. Not for collectors, not as an art object, but as a tool to get to know the 78 traditional tarot cards without constantly flipping through a booklet.

What you see on the cards

The illustrations are based on 15th-century Italian woodcuts. Simple line drawings, neutral colours, no distracting details. Below each image are the keywords for the upright meaning, and along the side or bottom the explanation for the reversed position.

The text is kept functional. No poetry, no long sentences. What you see is what you need to interpret a reading.

Who this deck works for

This deck is designed for beginners. It assumes you do not yet know all the meanings by heart and that you need direct support while practising.

Many people use this deck for daily card practice. Pull a card, read the text, notice how the theme shows up that day. That works because you do not have to guess what the card might mean.
