Tarot at the End of the Rainbow - folklore and tarot in bright colours
Not every deck puts the emphasis on the heavy side of tarot. This deck deliberately chooses light, colour and hope. Davide Corsi illustrated 78 cards in which faeries, leprechauns and pixies from British and Irish folklore replace the human figures.
The structure is classic Rider-Waite-Smith. Each of the 78 arcana is recognisable, including the cards you might prefer not to draw. The difference lies in the tone. Where a traditional deck might show the Ten of Swords as a scene of despair, here you get a softer story. The symbolism remains, the way of telling does not.
What you see on the cards
The illustrations are rendered in bright, almost storybook colours. Plenty of green, blue and gold. Each card contains small details: flowers, toadstools, elf doors in tree trunks, butterflies. The imagery is busy, but not cluttered.
The human figures have been replaced by elfin beings with large eyes and pointed ears. That makes the deck recognisable as fairy-tale tarot. The cards follow the RWS compositions closely enough to understand immediately what is happening, but have been reimagined enough not to feel like a copy.
Who this deck is designed for
This deck is designed for beginners. Jaymi Elford, who wrote the texts, keeps the guidebook straightforward. Each arcanum gets a short description, no elaborate philosophical treatises. The cards themselves contain enough imagery to work with intuitively.
The deck also works well for daily draws. The tone is positive without being unrealistic. Even challenging cards are shown with an opening towards transformation or new perspective. That makes this not a deck for deep shadow-work sessions, but it is a good fit for someone starting out who would rather not immediately go under.
Draw one card each morning and pay attention to the small details in the illustration. The toadstools, flowers and butterflies are not just decoration, they are part of the story.

Questions we often get
How are traditionally heavy cards like the Tower or Death depicted?
They are shaped more gently than in a classic deck. Death shows transformation, the Tower leaves room for rebuilding. The symbolism remains recognisable, but the emphasis is on what comes after, not on the blow itself.
Is the guidebook comprehensive enough to work with as a beginner?
Yes. Each card gets a clear description, no long stories. Enough to get started, not overwhelming. If you want more depth, you can always pick up a separate book on RWS tarot alongside it.
