A.E. Waite Tarot iCards - the classic deck in digital form
Not everyone wants to carry physical cards around. This app brings the Rider-Waite-Smith deck to your screen, with all illustrations by Pamela Colman Smith and complete English explanations.
The app is developed by königsfurt-urania, the publisher that has managed the original deck for decades. All 78 cards are included in high resolution. The texts are written by Rachel Pollack and Johannes Fiebig, the same authors as in the printed editions.
What you get
You can tap each card for an extensive description. The text goes beyond keywords: you read about symbolism, context and possible interpretations. The app also includes a daily card function that draws a card each day and saves it in a log.
The images are the original illustrations from 1909, not adapted or recoloured. The same yellow skies, the same high-contrast lines, the same colour use as in the first edition.
You can draw cards yourself and save them for later. Everything you draw stays stored in your personal history. The app works offline, so you do not need an internet connection.
Who this works for
This app is useful if you travel regularly and do not want to carry a physical deck. Or if you want to practise with Rider-Waite before buying cards. The English texts make it accessible for beginners, but the depth is there for advanced readers too.
Use the daily card function for a month and then look back at your log. Patterns become more obvious when you see them side by side.
