Astrology Tarot Deck & Guide - 48 cards linking tarot and planets
This is not a standard 78-card tarot deck. It is a system of 48 cards that brings tarot and astrology together, based on the work of Georges Muchery, a French occultist active in the early 20th century.
The cards are larger than average (120 x 70 mm) and printed on heavy 330 gsm cardstock. The illustration style is dramatic and vintage, with strong lines and a colour palette that fits the period around the First World War.
What you see on the cards
Each card carries astrological symbols: planets, zodiac signs, aspects. Those symbols are not decoration. They form the core of the system. The idea is that you can read astrological influences through the cards without first calculating a birth chart.
The imagery is powerful and esoteric. No soft watercolours or playful details. The aesthetic is that of early French occultism: formal, symbolic, with an emphasis on line and composition.
How you work with it
The accompanying booklet describes a spread that Muchery himself developed. The deck is designed for complex questions where timing and character analysis play a role.
You do not need deep astrological knowledge to use this deck. The booklet explains the symbols and their meaning within the system. At the same time: some familiarity with the language of astrology makes the experience richer.
Draw a card in the morning and look up which astrological symbol appears on it. Throughout the day, notice how the energy of that planet or sign shows itself.
About Georges Muchery
Georges Muchery was a French occultist who wanted to make astrological knowledge accessible through tarot. He worked within the French esoteric tradition of the early 20th century and developed this system to unite both disciplines.
This edition is compiled by Thomas Hueb and published by Vieux Monde, with respect for the original symbolism and design of Muchery.
