Celestial Unicorn Tarot - unicorn energy within the RWS structure
This is not the first deck to feature unicorns. It is the first to link each of the 78 cards to a specific unicorn energy and place that within the familiar Rider-Waite-Smith structure. That makes the Celestial Unicorn Tarot a hybrid: tarot and oracle at the same time.
The deck is designed by Calista, an international teacher of Unicorn Healing®, together with tarot author Leeza Robertson. The illustrations are by Eugene Smith, who gives each unicorn its own personality and colour palette.
How this deck is built
The structure is classic tarot: 22 Major Arcana, 56 Minor Arcana divided across four suits. Each card, however, carries the name and energy of a specific unicorn. That means you can work with traditional tarot meanings as well as with the channelled message of the unicorn itself.
The guidebook offers both angles. Upright and reversed meanings are included, along with exercises and meditations for each card. For the Major Arcana these are fully developed rituals that help you meet your own guardian unicorn.
The card altar is a physical tool that comes with the deck. You place a drawn card on it during rituals or to keep the energy of that card visible throughout the day.
Who this deck works for
This deck is designed for anyone familiar with tarot who wants to work with unicorn energy. The structure is recognisable. The symbolism is not always. Each archetype takes on a new form through the unicorn lens.
If you want to read only the tarot meanings, you can. If you prefer to work intuitively and approach the unicorns as guides, that works too. The guidebook supports both ways.
Place the card altar in a fixed spot and change the card each morning. This keeps the unicorn energy of the day close without needing to do a full reading every time.
