Quên Oracle - 44 hand-painted cards on memory and emotion
About the Quên Oracle
The Quên Oracle was created by Duy Khanh Vo, the Vietnamese artist behind the celebrated Quên Tarot. The word 'Quên' translates as 'to forget' in Vietnamese, and that idea runs through all 44 cards. When you use these oracle cards, you look at the image and ask yourself what it stirs in you personally. There is no fixed list of meanings to memorise. Unlike tarot cards, which follow a defined structure, this set works through feeling and personal memory. That makes it a good fit for people who already have some experience with card reading and feel comfortable trusting their own responses.
Images and themes
The 44 cards show hand-painted scenes in a soft, slightly melancholic style. You often see a young girl from Hanoi, surrounded by oceans, open landscapes, and quiet everyday moments. The artwork combines Asian visual traditions with a modern, surrealist approach. Themes of longing, solitude, the beauty of ordinary life, and Vietnamese culture appear throughout. The overall feeling is gentle and reflective, closer to reading someone's personal diary than to working with a traditional oracle card set.
The creator
Duy Khanh Vo is a Vietnamese artist who publishes his card sets independently in small print runs. His Quên Tarot was named the best tarot deck in the world in 2022. The Quên Oracle is the poetic companion to that deck. Because he works through indie publishing, his releases are produced in limited quantities and become harder to find over time.
Using the Quên Oracle
You can use the Quên Oracle on its own or alongside the Quên Tarot. The silver edges of the oracle cards pair well visually with the gold and copper edges of the tarot. A simple way to work with these cards is to draw one each morning, place it in front of you, and write down what comes to mind as you look at it. Because the images are more abstract than those in most oracle card sets, working with them regularly trains you to form your own interpretations rather than relying on a set answer.
Draw one card each morning and write down three words that come to mind immediately. After a week, look back at what you wrote. The pattern often shows you what has been on your mind without you fully realising it.

Expert FAQ: Quên Oracle
Do I need the Quên Tarot to use the Quên Oracle?
No. The Quên Oracle stands on its own. It has its own theme, imagery, and purpose. You do not need the Quên Tarot to use it. People who own both say they work well together visually and in terms of content, but that is a personal choice, not a requirement.
The Quên Oracle has no fixed card meanings. Is that a problem for everyday use?
It depends on how you like to work. If you prefer a clear guidebook with defined meanings for each card, this set will feel open-ended. There is no extensive reference list. If you are comfortable sitting with an image and forming your own response, that open structure is exactly what makes these cards useful for regular reflection.
