The Valley of the Lambs Tarot Giftbox - three formats, three materials in one box
Most tarot sets come in one size, on one type of card stock, in one box. This one is different. You get the same deck three times, each edition made from a different material and designed for a different context.
The box measures 285 x 338 x 70 mm and weighs nearly two kilograms. The interior is lined with velvet and pre-shaped foam so every piece sits in its own position.
What is inside the box
The Standard Edition uses 400 gsm paper cards with a linen finish and gilded edges. That is notably sturdier than most commercially printed tarot cards. This version is built for regular use at a table.
The Collector Edition is the visual centrepiece. The cards are made from PET material with a 3D lenticular layer: tilt the card, and Miss Lamb appears to move within the image. This is a property of the material itself, not a print effect.
The Portable Edition is made from PVC, is waterproof and comes in a small tin box. Small enough for a pocket, solid enough for daily use on the go.
The box also contains a heavy metal decision coin, three scented cards of 'The World' that release a soft scent when the box is opened, two transparent cards of 'The Hermit' and 'Seven of Cups', and an extensive English-language guidebook covering the symbolism of each card.
The imagery of Miss Lamb
All three editions carry the same artwork: soft pastel colours, cloud-filled landscapes and a sheep as the central figure. The system follows Rider-Waite-Smith, so the structure and symbolism remain recognisable for anyone familiar with traditional tarot cards.
The visual tone deliberately avoids the darker iconography common in classical decks. Skeletons, threatening figures, heavy shadow: none of that appears here. Cards like Death, The Tower and The Devil are all present, but reinterpreted through a gentle, illustrative lens.
That is a deliberate choice by creator SENGIA. The deck was designed as a counterpoint to tarot cards that feel heavy or intimidating.
What sets this box apart
Having three material variants in one purchase makes practical sense for anyone who would order them separately anyway. But the box goes further than convenience. The transparent cards, scented cards and metal coin are exclusive to this gift set.
This is clearly a collector's object. Reviewers describe the box as a museum piece, and that is not an exaggeration when the Collector Edition alone behaves differently from any paper card you have handled before. The lenticular layer changes how you look at each image.
Use the Standard Edition for spreads at the table, the Portable Edition when travelling, and keep the Collector Edition stored separately. Each format has a distinct role, even within the same day.
About SENGIA
SENGIA is the creator behind the Valley of the Lambs universe. They are known for working with materials outside the standard range of tarot production: PET, PVC, scent and transparent card stock. On platforms including Kickstarter and Etsy, they are consistently praised for careful packaging and a recognisable visual style.
The approach centres on accessibility. The lamb figure was chosen as a symbol of gentleness, and the soft colour palette was a deliberate decision to make tarot available to people recovering from a difficult period or approaching the cards for the first time.

Questions we often get
Are the illustrations the same across all three editions?
Yes. The artwork is identical in all three versions. The difference is material and size: paper, PET lenticular or PVC pocket.
What exactly does the 3D lenticular effect do?
The Collector Edition is made from PET material with a lenticular layer. When you tilt the card, the image elements shift relative to each other, creating the impression of depth. This is a characteristic of the material, not a digital or printed effect.
