The Way Seekers Tarot - mythology and structure in one deck
Not every tarot deck tries to reconcile two traditions. This one does. The Way Seekers Tarot takes the clean structure of Marseille, adds the symbolism of Smith-Waite, and places Greco-Roman gods and heroes in the lead roles.
The deck is designed by Anna Jedrziewski and illustrated by NDR. The cards are hand-drawn in deep jewel tones with a light grey vintage border that makes the images stand out without being intrusive.
What you see on the cards
The Major Arcana and Court Cards show mythological figures from classical antiquity. Not abstract symbols, but recognisable characters with their own stories and qualities. That makes the cards directly accessible if you have some knowledge of these myths.
The Minor Arcana follows a modernised pip style but integrates elements from the Rider-Waite Smith tradition. It stays visually clean, but you get enough support to read the cards intuitively. The colours are rich and saturated without becoming garish.
How this deck relates to other traditions
If you are only used to Rider-Waite Smith, the Minor Arcana will take some adjustment. The pip style leaves more room for interpretation. At the same time, the mythological imagery in the Major Arcana gives more context than in many classical decks.
This is not a beginner deck in the strict sense. You benefit from some experience with tarot structure or interest in mythology. The 60-page guidebook offers traditional meanings and practical tips, but not extensive stories per card.
Draw a card from the Major Arcana and ask yourself: which aspect of this god or hero do I recognise in my own situation right now? The mythology works as a mirror.

How does this deck differ from a standard Rider-Waite Smith?
The structure is different. This deck uses a pip style for the Minor Arcana and places mythological figures in the Major Arcana. The symbolism is richer in stories from classical antiquity, where Rider-Waite Smith uses more universal archetypes.
Can I use this deck if I have no knowledge of Greek mythology?
Yes. The guidebook gives the meaning for each card, independent of the mythology. Knowledge of the myths does add an extra layer to your reading experience.
