Vintage Wisdom Oracle - collages of portraits and postcards
Vintage imagery has a quality few other images share: it slows you down. Old family portraits, postcards from the 1920s, sepia tones. You look at them differently than you would at a contemporary illustration. The Vintage Wisdom Oracle by Victoria Moseley works with exactly that material.
All 52 cards are collages of old photographs, decorated with flowers, lace and soft graphic elements. Each image shows a woman, a goddess or a muse. The images are old, the feel is timeless.
What you see on the cards
The photographs are real: family portraits, postcards, sometimes yellowed paper where you can see the passage of time. Moseley adds flowers, ornamental lines, sometimes a wreath or a beam of light. The colour palettes are soft: sepia tones, pale pink, faded blue, a lot of white.
The overall effect is dreamy and nostalgic. No sharp contrasts, no bright colours. The images are calming and invite you to linger.
Each card carries a name in English. No fixed systems or numbers, but themes such as surrender, patience, inner mystery and wisdom.
How you work with it
The 80-page guidebook contains five spreads, each focused on a different type of question. The texts are clear and loving, no long philosophical digressions. You read what the card means and make the translation yourself.
Many people use this deck for daily cards. Pull one, place it somewhere you will see it all day. The image works through without you actively engaging with it.
Place a drawn card on your desk or beside your bed. The vintage images work as a visual meditation that continues to speak throughout the day.

Questions we often get
Can you use this deck without experience with oracle cards?
Yes. The images are intuitive enough to work with immediately, and the guidebook offers clear guidance without requiring prior knowledge.
What makes the collage style different from classic oracle illustrations?
The vintage photographs give the cards a different kind of weight. Where many oracle decks are drawn specifically for that purpose, Moseley works with existing material that already has its own history. You see that reflected in the atmosphere.
