Vision Quest Tarot SE - shamanic symbolism with earthy imagery

Not every tarot deck looks outward. The Vision Quest Tarot focuses on natural cycles and the inner journey. It uses symbolism from indigenous traditions, power animals and the medicine wheel to reframe tarot archetypes.

The deck was designed by Gayan Sylvie Winter and Jo Dosé. Winter is an astrologer and esoteric researcher, Dosé drew the cards. Together they developed a system that works intuitively, without sharp lines or hard contrasts.

What you see on the cards

The illustrations are soft and dreamlike. Warm earth tones dominate, with occasional accents in red or green. Figures sometimes blend into the background, as though they are part of the landscape. The imagery shows power animals, natural elements and spiritual guides, placed within the tarot structure.

The medicine wheel recurs throughout the deck. The four elements take a prominent place, as do the seasons and the natural transitions between light and dark. The Minor Arcana follow the Rider-Waite tradition, but with different visual interpretation.

The cards measure approximately 7.3 x 12 cm. The format is standard, the cardstock feels sturdy enough for regular use. The finish is matte.

How you work with it

This deck asks for stillness. The soft transitions and absence of sharp accents make it suitable for meditative readings. Many people use it for contemplative spreads, spending longer with a single card than they would for a quick daily draw.

The guidebook is in Spanish. It contains explanations of the symbolism, meanings for each card and the relationship with the medicine wheel. The texts are clear but factual. You have to make the connection between the description and your question yourself.

Draw a card in a quiet setting, or outside if you can. The nature symbolism works more strongly when you are surrounded by it.

About Gayan Sylvie Winter and Jo Dosé

Gayan Sylvie Winter is an astrologer and writer. Her work revolves around cyclical systems and esotericism. For this deck she translated knowledge from indigenous traditions into the tarot structure.

Jo Dosé is an illustrator. His style is dreamlike and soft, with emphasis on transitions and atmosphere. He has drawn for other esoteric publications, but the Vision Quest Tarot remains his best-known work.

Is this Spanish edition different in content from the English version?
No. The cards are identical. The only difference is the language of the guidebook and packaging.

Does this deck work if I speak little Spanish?
The images speak largely for themselves, but for deeper interpretation you need the guidebook. Basic knowledge of Spanish helps.
