Designed by Theresa Hutch, an American illustrator and yoga teacher, this deck is about calm, balance and natural energy. The cards have a minimalist design with soft pastel tones. The Minor Arcana is based on the seven chakras. The court cards show animals instead of people.
The imagery is quiet. Line drawings in soft shades of pink, blue, green and yellow. No excessive detail, no dramatic scenes. Every element has space to breathe.
In the Minor Arcana, the colours correspond to the chakras. You can see immediately which energy centre a card speaks to. The court cards feature animals: a rabbit, a fox, a deer, an owl. They represent qualities such as curiosity, cleverness, gentleness and wisdom.
The symbolism is clear enough to work intuitively, without having to consult the guidebook constantly.
The cards are small: 57 x 89 mm. That is about the size of a deck of playing cards. They shuffle easily and fit in a coat pocket.
The matte finish feels pleasant and prevents the cards from becoming too slippery. The metal tin they come in is solid and protects the cards better than cardboard. That is useful if you carry them often.

Do I need to know about chakras to work with this deck?
No. The guidebook explains which chakra corresponds to which card. You can also simply use the cards as a tarot deck without paying attention to that aspect.
Are the cards not too small?
That depends on your hands and what you are used to. They do shuffle easily and fit in a small bag. For people with large hands, the format may take some getting used to.
