Wild Wisdom Australia - Australian fauna as spiritual guides
The Australian bush is a world apart. Animals found nowhere else, landscapes unlike any other continent, isolation that has produced unique adaptations. That distinctiveness is exactly what makes Wild Wisdom Australia work as an oracle.
The deck is created by illustrator Karin Roberts and spiritual worker Bonnie Hughes. 44 cards show animals from the desert, the ocean, the sky and the forest. Not as biological illustration, but as archetype carrying a message. Each card includes a mantra, a colour and a chakra connection.
What you see on the cards
The illustrations combine realistic details with sacred geometry. A Kookaburra sits on a branch, surrounded by geometric patterns that structure the background. A Cockatoo spreads its wings, placed against shapes that make the energy of the card visible.
The colours are bright, sometimes almost vivid. Lots of orange, blue, green and red. No soft watercolour atmosphere, but colour that stands out immediately and takes up space. The animals are central, the geometry supports without dominating.
Each card contains text: the name of the animal, a short message, a mantra and the associated chakra colour. This makes the deck easy to read without the guidebook, though the book does offer depth.
How you work with it
The guidebook describes each animal as a teacher in a specific life phase or challenge. The Quokka is about joy and letting go, the Cockatoo about communication and social connection. The mantras are short and repeatable, meant to hold in mind during meditation or throughout the day.
The chakra connections offer an additional angle for those working with them. If you draw the Kookaburra, you can bring the associated colour and chakra into your practice. This makes the deck useful for energy work, yoga or visualisations as well.
Draw a card before your morning meditation and repeat the mantra throughout the day. The text on the card is short enough to remember.

Questions we often get
Do I need to know Australian animals to work with this deck?
No. The guidebook describes each animal and its symbolism in detail. You need no prior knowledge, the cards tell their own story.
Are the mantras and chakra connections necessary for use?
No, but they do offer additional anchors. You can simply read the cards based on the image and the message. The mantras and chakras are a supplement, not a requirement.
