About the Sweet Blossom Lenormand
The Sweet Blossom Lenormand is a Dutch deck by Irene Captijn. Soft, floral, and unexpectedly grounded in classical Lenormand tradition. The story of how it came to exist is just as interesting as the cards themselves.
From nursing to card design
Irene Captijn worked as a nurse when she discovered Lenormand during her recovery from COVID-19. The cards gave her something to hold on to. She explored the system, became absorbed in it, and eventually decided to make her own deck — with the help of AI to bring her vision into form. The result is a deck that radiates hope without becoming sentimental.
Card spotlight: The House
The House stands for your foundation, stability and home life.
- Close: solid ground, security, things holding steady.
- Far: possible tensions or disruption in the domestic sphere.
- Note: when the House falls beneath the querent in a tableau, pay attention to what might be unsettling the home situation.
“The blossoming flowers on each card symbolise the promise of spring and bring light into difficult times.”
Inclusive by design
The Sweet Blossom Lenormand includes two extra cards for questions about same-sex relationships. Contemporary in that regard, while keeping the classical 36-card Lenormand system fully intact.
