Angels Among Us Deck - contemporary angel cards with inclusive imagery
Angel cards often have a predictable look: soft pastels, wings, light beams. This deck does it differently. Victoria Maxwell and illustrator Ellie Grant have reimagined spiritual figures as contemporary people with different backgrounds, skin tones and body types.
The result is an oracle in which angels, gods and ascended masters become recognisable. Not distant figures in white robes, but guides who look like they could sit next to you on the train.
What you see on the cards
Ellie Grant works with bold colours and flat compositions. The style is contemporary, almost graphic. Pink edges give the cards an extra touch that fits the playful yet serious tone of the deck.
The 36 cards show diverse figures: women, men, people with different body types and ethnicities. Some wear wings, others hold attributes that refer to their role. The focus lies on expression and posture, not on ornament.
The guidebook describes each card on two levels: the spiritual identity of the guide and the practical message for the reader. It is not a symbol dictionary, but a guide that helps translate the energy of a card into your own situation.
How you work with it
This deck invites daily use. The cards are large enough to shuffle comfortably (102 x 140 mm) and the matte finish gives good grip. The messages are uplifting without becoming vague.
The guidebook includes example spreads, but most users pull one card per day. The texts are compact enough to read quickly, yet offer enough starting points to begin a conversation with yourself.
Pull a card and ask: what energy stands beside me today? Place the card somewhere you will see it during the day. That works better than memorising the meaning.
About Victoria Maxwell
Victoria Maxwell calls herself the New Age Hipster. She writes and teaches about spirituality for a generation that is critical but open to the unseen. Her tone is practical and light, without losing depth.
For this deck she worked with Ellie Grant, who is responsible for the illustrations. Grant deliberately chooses diversity, not as a statement but as a starting point: spiritual guides are there for everyone, so they look like everyone too.

Questions we often get
How does this deck differ from classic angel cards?
Classic angel cards often use pastel colours and traditional imagery. This deck chooses bold colours, contemporary compositions and deliberately diverse figures. The messages remain positive and uplifting, but the form is different.
Do I need to believe in angels to use this deck?
No. The cards work just as well if you see them as archetypes or as external representations of your own inner wisdom. The guidebook does not impose a belief system.
