Beauregard - collage cards without fixed meanings
Most card decks tell you what to see. This set lets you look for yourself. Beauregard is a collection of fifty-five abstract collages by artist Joan Beauregard, published as a limited edition by OH Publishing.
There is no guidebook. That is deliberate. The cards have no titles, no keywords, no explanations. Just colour, form and texture.
What you see on the cards
Each card is a collage. Beauregard combines painted surfaces with various materials and builds layered compositions. Some cards are dark and dense, others lighter and more open.
The images are abstract. No figures, no recognizable objects. What you do see: overlapping planes, textures that clash or merge, colour contrasts that stand out or pull back.
The cards measure 90 x 130 mm. They come in a black box with silver print.
How to work with them
Many people use these cards as a visual trigger. You draw a card, look at it and notice what happens. Which association comes first? What feeling surfaces? Where in your body do you sense a response?
This works well for personal reflection, but also in groups. The absence of fixed meanings means everyone is free to say what they see. No right or wrong answers.
Some therapists and coaches use the cards as a conversation starter. Others take them as inspiration for writing, painting or making music. The deck fits any context where visual language helps.
Draw a card and look at it for a minute without thinking. Let your eye move over the planes and materials. What stays with you?

Questions we often get
Why is there no guidebook included?
That is intentional. The cards are designed to give your own associations room. A guidebook would direct that, which is not the purpose.
Can I combine these cards with other decks or methods?
Yes. Because the cards have no fixed meanings, you can add them to any practice where visual language plays a role. They work well alongside coaching conversations, mindfulness exercises or creative processes.
