With its serene aesthetic and profound wisdom, this deck invites you to cultivate a mind of peace, a heart of compassion, and a life filled with genuine happiness.
About this Deck
Curated by the revered Tibetan monk Lama Tendar and the dedicated nun Ani Dechen, this deck distills the vast ocean of Mahayana Buddhist teachings into accessible, daily insights. The visual vibe is one of sacred elegance, featuring 52 beautifully designed round cards that symbolize the wholeness of the dharma wheel. Each card serves as a portable sanctuary, providing the clarity needed to navigate life’s ups and downs with a balanced mind.
Symbolism and Themes
The core of this deck lies in the "Science of Happiness"—the Buddhist understanding that peace is an internal state cultivated through practice. The imagery and messages are rooted in the Mahayana tradition, focusing on themes of universal compassion (Bodhicitta), the transformation of suffering, and the awakening of inner wisdom. By integrating these age-old Tibetan principles, the deck acts as a mirror, reflecting your own potential for enlightenment and mental clarity.
The Creators
Lama Tendar
A Tibetan monk since the age of 12, Lama Tendar has spent decades studying and teaching Mahayana Buddhism across the globe. As the founder of the Medicine Buddha Tantrayana Meditation Center and the Shantideva Buddhist Foundation, he has dedicated his life to the well-being of all sentient beings through the tireless practice of wisdom and compassion.
Ani Dechen
With a background as an academic holding a PhD in Economics of Development, Ani Dechen’s journey took a spiritual turn in 2017 when she became a Buddhist nun under Lama Tendar’s guidance. Her unique perspective blends intellectual rigor with deep spiritual devotion, focusing on the mental transformation required for the benefit of all.
Practical Use
This deck is designed to be a practical tool for daily living. Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply seeking a moment of reflection, drawing a card can offer the perspective needed to respond with grace rather than reaction. The messages are welcoming to those brand new to Buddhism while remaining deeply nourishing for seasoned practitioners.
To deepen your practice, place your chosen card on an altar or workspace to serve as a "mindfulness bell" throughout the day, reminding you to return to your breath and your center.
