Egyptian Lenormand Oracle - Lenormand with Egyptian gods and Art Nouveau ornaments
The Lenormand structure is tight: 36 cards, fixed meanings, clear combinations. What can happen within that structure with colour, style and symbolism is another matter. Giulia Massaglia chooses a double layer: Egyptian iconography and the ornate lines of Art Nouveau.
The result is a deck that stands out visually without losing readability. The Tree remains the Tree, the Anchor remains the Anchor. But the way they appear, with hieroglyphs, gods and organic frames, gives each card its own weight.
What you see on the cards
The imagery combines two styles that do not normally meet. The Egyptian motifs are hard, geometric forms: pyramids, scarabs, gods with animal heads. The Art Nouveau decorations are fluid: tendrils, floral motifs, subtle gilded details.
Massaglia lets both styles sit side by side without blending them. The ornamental lines follow the shape of the card, the Egyptian figures stand in the centre. The overall effect is luxurious without becoming busy.
The cards are larger than standard playing cards (88 × 125 mm), which benefits the details. The colours are saturated: gold, turquoise, deep blue and ochre dominate.
How it works in practice
The classic Lenormand meanings remain intact. Anyone familiar with the system will recognise the cards immediately and can read them as usual. The Egyptian layer adds symbolic depth that you can use or ignore, depending on how you read.
The guidebook is written by Riccardo Minetti and describes the cards in English, Spanish and Italian. The basic Lenormand knowledge is enough to work with this deck.
In combinations, notice the direction of the ornaments: the lines sometimes point towards the edges of the card, which helps you see which cards in a spread refer to each other.
About Giulia Massaglia
Massaglia is an Italian illustrator who specialises in breathing new life into historical styles. Her work for Lo Scarabeo includes several decks in which she translates classic themes into contemporary imagery. For this deck she deliberately chose the combination of two rich traditions: the mysticism of ancient Egypt and the decorative power of Art Nouveau.

Questions we often get
Is this deck suitable for beginners?
If you know the basics of Lenormand, this deck works immediately. The symbols are recognisable, the meanings remain classic. The visual style is richer than a standard Lenormand, but that does not make reading more complicated.
Does the guidebook include instructions for reading Lenormand?
Yes, Riccardo Minetti provides card meanings and reading guidance. The guidebook assumes some familiarity with cartomancy but is accessible to those new to the Lenormand system.
