Enchanting Forest Tarot
Instead of treating each card as a standalone image, this deck follows a character named Luna as she travels through an enchanted forest searching for her brother. That narrative runs through all 80 cards and gives the deck an emotional arc you rarely find in tarot. The illustrations are hand-drawn with a warm, fairy-tale atmosphere, created by the three-person Wonderstruck Studio.

Enchanting Forest Tarot - story-driven tarot through an enchanted forest
Most tarot decks treat each card as a self-contained image. This one builds something different: a character named Luna walks into an enchanted forest to find her brother, and that journey runs through all 80 cards. The result is a deck with an emotional thread connecting every suit and every major arcana card.
The deck comes from Wonderstruck Studio, a small independent studio of three people from different professional backgrounds, drawn together by a shared interest in symbolism and art. Their previous decks, Wonderstruck Tarot and The Pearlescent Tarot, Charms & Quest, were both funded through Kickstarter. This deck reached more than 600% of its funding goal on the same platform.
What you see on the cards
The illustrations are hand-drawn and carry a warm, fairy-tale quality throughout. In the final production stage, subtle AI assistance was used to ensure colour and tone consistency across all the cards. The studio is open about this.
The minor arcana follows four distinct paths through the forest. Wands take the northern path of fire, covering willpower and courage. Cups travel through the western waters, dealing with emotion and empathy. Swords follow the eastern winds, addressing doubt and the difference between fear and reality. Pentacles move along the southern earth path, focusing on patience and reunion. That structure gives the suits a concrete meaning that goes beyond the usual elemental associations.
The guidebook
The deck comes with a 176-page full-colour guidebook. It covers classical card meanings, the specific story thread for each card, and reflection questions. That is a genuine step beyond guidebooks that only list keywords and upright or reversed meanings.
Backers of the campaign pointed to the emotional arc as something that resonated particularly for people going through a difficult period. The narrative adds a layer for anyone who wants more than a symbol reference.
When you draw a card, read the story paragraph in the guidebook as well. The reflection questions that follow are direct enough to work with even when you have little time.
Materials and finish
The cards measure 70 x 120 mm and are printed on heavy cardstock of 300-350 gsm. The gold foil details on the cards and the box are present without being overstated. The holographic blue-tinted gilded edges add a clear finishing touch. The card back is fully reversible, which makes reading with reversed cards straightforward.
The deck contains 80 cards as standard: the classic 78 plus two bonus cards, The Catalyst and The Beneath, which have been added to the major arcana and are included in every box. The whole thing arrives in a sturdy storage box with a cushioned foam interior.
About Wonderstruck Studio
Wonderstruck Studio is a three-person independent studio. Its members came from different fields and found common ground in symbolism, art, and tarot. They describe themselves as a studio that learns as it goes, often through trial and error.
Their earlier releases, Wonderstruck Tarot and The Pearlescent Tarot, Charms & Quest, established them in the independent tarot publishing space. The Enchanting Forest Tarot is their most narrative-driven project to date.
