Ciro Marchetti is known for his colourful digital tarot cards. This deck goes another way. The Encore Tarot is reworked in a retro pen-and-ink style with a muted colour palette. No loud colours, but earthy tones and a nostalgic design.
The deck consists of 82 cards instead of the usual 78. Those four extra cards add nuance to readings and serve as clarification for more complex questions.
Marchetti reaches back to illustrations from his earlier work and reworks them in a unified style. Pen-and-ink forms the basis, supplemented with selective colour. The red metallic edges give the whole a finished look without becoming obtrusive.
