Erika's Petit Lenormand of Hope - pocket format with blue metallic edges
Most Lenormand decks keep the imagery blank. Erika Robinson chose to do it differently. In this deck the faces of the figures are black, as are the models in the botanical scenes that frame the cards.
The deck contains 39 cards: the classic 36 Lenormand cards, two extra person cards (Man and Woman), and an added card that is absent from most Lenormand systems: the Scales. Format is compact, 70 x 97 mm. That makes it easy to carry with you.
What you see on the cards
The paintings are by Erica Peebus. Her style combines soft colour transitions with clear botanical detail. Flowers and leaves take up a lot of space. The symbolism stays recognisable: Tree, Snake, Scythe, Ship, everything you expect in a Lenormand deck.
The finish stands out. Blue metallic edges run around each card. The cardstock is 350 grams and matte laminated, which makes shuffling smooth. The packaging is a two-piece box with sturdy cardboard.
Why the extra cards
Traditionally Lenormand has one Man and one Woman card. Robinson added a set. That gives space to lay down multiple people in a reading, or to name diverse identities and relationships more concretely.
The Scales card is new. In tarot there is a Justice card, but it is missing from most Lenormand systems. Here the Scales stand central as a symbol for balance and fairness. Whether you use that card is up to you. It is there as an option.
Draw the Scales card at the start of the week if you want to reflect on a situation where you are not sure where you stand. The symbolism can help you stay neutral in your view.

Questions we often get
Do I have to use the three extra cards, or can I leave them out?
You can leave them out. The 36 base cards form a complete Lenormand system. The extra cards are a choice, not a requirement.
Is the format smaller than a standard Lenormand deck?
Yes. 70 x 97 mm is a pocket size. Standard Lenormand cards are usually around 88 x 125 mm. This deck fits more easily into a bag or coat pocket.
