The Fairy Oracle Cards collect the work of Arthur Rackham (1867-1939) in a deck of 36 oracle cards. Rackham was one of the most influential British illustrators of the golden age of book art, recognised for his pen-and-ink depictions of fairies, tree spirits and creatures drawn from folklore and myth.
The cards are based on traditional fairy tales, ancient myths and folklore. The set is published by Lo Scarabeo and carries the names of both Rackham and Jaymi Elford on the box.
What the cards look like
The illustrations move between black-and-white pen drawings in sepia and brown tones, and coloured watercolour-style scenes in beige, green and cream. Each card has a white border around the image, with no visible text on the front. The backs are teal with a floral pattern in red and pink.
The box is dark grey-anthracite and features a painterly portrait of a female figure with light curled hair and a grey cloak, set against a woodland background. 'Fairy Oracle' appears at the top in white lettering, with the names Arthur Rackham and Jaymi Elford at the bottom.
