Fairy Tarot - fairy magic built on the Rider-Waite
Not all tarot cards take themselves entirely seriously. This deck shows you familiar archetypes through a fairy mirror: colourful, playful, and with the humour that belongs to beings who interpret rules just a little differently.
Antonio Lupatelli, better known as Tony Wolf, was an Italian illustrator who became known for his warm, detailed drawing style. In this deck he uses the full 78-card structure of the Rider-Waite and populates it with forest spirits, mischievous fairies and magical animals.
What you see on the cards
Each card shows a being with its own character. No polished angels, but fairies who grin, doubt, wrestle or rest among mushrooms and flowers. The colours are bright and full of contrast.
The symbolism stays true to the classic tarot. The Hierophant still carries his staff, the Star still holds water, the Wheel of Fortune still turns. But instead of human figures you see winged creatures, animals and plants taking over the roles.
The cardstock is sturdy and finished smooth, which makes shuffling comfortable. The standard size of 66 x 120 mm fits most hands well.
How you work with it
This deck is designed for daily readings and moments when you want a lighter angle. The images are direct enough to form a story quickly, even if you do not yet know all the meanings by heart.

Antonio Lupatelli worked under the pseudonym Tony Wolf and became known worldwide for his children's book illustrations. His style is marked by warm colours, detailed nature scenes and figures with expressive faces.
For Lo Scarabeo he brought that style to tarot, translating the archetypes into a world where nature and magic are woven together.
