Most Lenormand decks are neutral in tone, functional, ready to be laid out on a table. This one makes a very different choice. Fate Strings Lenormand is theatrical, dark, and deliberately unsettling. Everything about the design, from the card shape to the imagery, circles one central question: who is actually pulling the strings?
The cards are coffin-shaped, measuring 70 by 116 mm, and come in a matching telescoping box. That is not an accident. The deck draws on the imagery of marionettes and the idea of fate as a force that intervenes in a life from the outside.

Ipsos Malafaya drew every card in this 78-card deck by hand using an Apple Pencil on an iPad Pro. The style follows the Rider Waite Smith tradition, with geometric patterned backgrounds that change colour by suit and figures dressed in rainbow hues referencing the chakras. Malafaya is a UK-based artist for whom this is a first tarot project.
The suits and Major Arcana follow the classic RWS sequence, with Strength as card VIII and Justice as card XI.
