Forest of Enchantment Oracle - 40 forest cards with full-colour guidebook
Forests have always given people stories. Plants, animals, shadows and seasons: humans have woven those images into meaning for as long as they have walked among the trees. The Forest of Enchantment Oracle is built on exactly that idea, and does so with consistency and care.
What you see on the cards
Green dominates, deepened by layers of blue. The style is watercolour: fluid, soft, without sharp outlines. One reviewer compared it to Lisa Hunt's work, and that holds up. There is the same quiet stillness to it.
The illustrations are by Meraylah Allwood, an award-winning British artist whose work appears in books on tree lore, healing and land-based wisdom. She lives with her family on a smallholding in East Anglia, and that rootedness shows in every image.
Each card has keywords printed directly on the image. You can orient yourself quickly without reaching for the guidebook every time.
What the guidebook offers
All 188 pages are printed in full colour. Each card entry includes a description of the image, oracle advice, a keyword list and a Lorekeeper's note: an expansion on the story taking place within the card.
The guidebook contains four spreads and a dedicated section on using oracle cards alongside tarot cards. For those who also own the Forest of Enchantment Tarot, that section provides concrete guidance for combined readings.
There is also a section on boon cards, which are special cards within the deck with a distinct function. That explanation appears towards the back of the guidebook.
Where this deck stands apart
Many forest-themed oracle decks lean heavily on fairy tales and folklore. This one states directly in the guidebook that it goes further: it is about what the forest means to the human psyche, and what enchantment means to the human heart. That could easily stay abstract, but the cards stay grounded.
The card called Cloak of Vanishing is a good example. A cloak with no body inside, surrounded by stardust. The image could read as unsettling. In this style it feels protective. That balance between the unknown and the comforting runs through the whole deck.
Pull a card, read the Lorekeeper's note, and then look back at the image. There is usually a detail that only registers after reading the text.
