Not every oracle deck draws its archetypes from ancient symbols or images of nature. This deck draws from a fictional world that millions of people know. The women from Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon are recognizable and extreme at the same time: they manipulate, survive, rule, lose everything and take it back anyway.
The deck is published by Running Press Adult and includes characters from both series. Arya Stark, Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister, Rhaenyra Targaryen, Sansa Stark, Brienne of Tarth, Alicent Hightower: all present. The cards show images from the television series, so anyone who has seen the episodes will recognize the scenes immediately.
Each character gets a card. The images are film stills or rendered images from the series. No drawn interpretations, but the face of the actress as you know her from the screen.
The guidebook describes for each card what power or lesson that character represents. Strategy, survival, loyalty, power, resilience: the themes are directly derived from what that woman experiences in the series. You do not need to know the storylines by heart, but it does help.
The guidebook contains spreads and interpretations. You can use the deck like any other oracle: one card per day, a spread with a question, a reading to look at a situation from different angles.
The difference from a classical oracle is that the archetypes here are stories. Each character has a starting point, makes choices, pays a price. That makes a reading concrete. Instead of 'the Queen of Swords' you draw Cersei Lannister, and that immediately evokes an image of what that energy looks like in action.
Draw a card when you have to make a difficult choice and see which character appears. The question is not: what would I do? But: what would she do, and what happens then?
