Happy Tails Oracle Deck - forty dogs with keywords for daily use
Not every oracle deck takes itself equally seriously. This one puts dogs front and centre, not as metaphor but as guide. Forty dog breeds, each with three keywords that point to a quality humans can use too: alertness, loyalty, playfulness, protection.
Faina Lorah painted all the cards by hand in watercolour. The style is soft, with pastel colours and warm tones. The dogs are drawn recognisably, sometimes with a wink, but always with detail. Each breed was chosen to illustrate a specific quality.
What you see on the cards
The imagery is accessible. Each card shows one dog, often in a setting that underlines the symbolism. A waiting dog by a door for patience, a running dog for movement, a listening dog for attention.
Below each image are three keywords. That makes the deck quick to use. You do not need to work through a guidebook first to understand what a card says. The words give direction, you fill in the rest yourself.
The watercolour technique creates soft transitions and a calm feel. No bright colours, no busy backgrounds. The focus is on the dog itself.
How you use this deck
The format is standard tarot size, which means the cards shuffle well and are not too large for daily use. The matte paper feels solid and the rounded corners protect the cards when you pull them often.
The guidebook gives background information on each dog breed and explains why certain qualities belong to that breed. You can use the deck for a daily card, or pull multiple cards for a broader picture. The keywords make it possible to work quickly without diving deep into symbolism.
Pull a card and see which dog quality fits your question. Often the answer lies in the most obvious quality, such as loyalty for relationships or alertness for new situations.
About Faina Lorah
Faina Lorah is an artist with Russian roots. Her background in Eastern European painting is visible in the soft colours and attention to detail. She combines her love for animals with symbolism and creates decks that radiate warmth without becoming heavy.
For Happy Tails Oracle she deliberately chose dogs because of their direct, instinctive way of communicating. She hand-painted each card, which gives the deck a personal feel.

Questions we often get
Do you need to know about dogs to use this deck?
No. The keywords on the cards give enough information. The guidebook does tell you something about each breed, but that is not a requirement for understanding the cards.
Are the keywords enough for a reading?
That depends on how you work. For a quick daily card the three words are often enough. For deeper questions you can consult the guidebook or add your own interpretation based on the image.
