Healing Energy Oracle - 54 large cards with luminous artwork
This is not an oracle deck with detailed texts or spreads. It is a set of 54 large art prints with no words on them, only light and colour. The cards are designed by Canadian artist Mario Duguay, known for his paintings that work with light frequencies.
The cards are made to look at, not to read. Duguay works with luminous colours intended to bring about a state of calm or receptivity. There is no guidebook. No explanation per card. You draw an image and see what happens.
What you get in your hands
The cards are large: 76 x 170 mm. That makes them different from most oracle decks. You do not handle them quickly with one hand. The format fits the function: these cards are made to be laid down and looked at, not to be worked into a spread.
The imagery is abstract or figurative, usually a combination. Dominant colours are blue, gold, white and violet. The style is digitally edited, with lots of colour gradients and light effects. Duguay paints with the intention that the image itself has an energetic effect.
The hardcover box is solid and protects the cards well. The whole set feels like an art book, not a standard card deck.
How you work with them
Many people lay a card down during meditation or place it somewhere they will see it all day. The cards do not invite interpretation in a classic sense. There is no symbol to decipher. The idea is that the image itself does something.
This deck asks for a different approach than, say, Lenormand or RWS tarot. You cannot fall back on learned meanings. The experience is more direct and subjective.
