Heavenly Bloom Tarot - botanical symbolism with five elemental groups
Most tarot decks have one visual line. This deck divides its world into five separate groups, each with its own element and atmosphere. It is a structure you rarely see, and it gives readings a different kind of emphasis.
Heavenly Bloom Tarot is designed by Noa Ikeda, a Japanese-American illustrator based in Montreal. She works with soft tints, dreamy compositions and plenty of botanical detail. Her background is in game art and web design, and you can see that in the way she layers elements together.
What you see on the cards
The cards are divided into five groups. Each group has its own elemental connection and visual style. There is a winged tribe that works intellectually, desert warriors representing fire, amphibious spirits for water, and earthbound druids.
The fifth group depicts humans as stewards of the earth. It is a deliberate choice to show the human role as part of a larger natural system.
All the cards contain floral motifs. Sometimes they are central, sometimes they function as border decoration. The rose gold edges give the deck a sheen that is particularly noticeable in daylight. The colour palettes are soft: plenty of pale pink, blue, green and beige.
How the deck behaves
The format is narrower than standard: 70 by 133 mm. That makes the cards easier to shuffle and more comfortable to hold if you have smaller hands. The glossy finish gives them a smooth feel.
The guidebook runs to 72 pages and describes the meanings card by card. There are no spreads, but there is explanation of the symbolism and the way Ikeda has translated the traditional tarot structure into her five groups.
The deck follows the Rider-Waite-Smith structure, so the main lines remain recognizable. What is different is the tone: optimistic, calm, with a strong emphasis on growth and connection with nature.
Place the cards in indirect sunlight for a few seconds before using them. The rose gold catches the light and gives the reading a warmer glow.
About Noa Ikeda

Questions we often get
How does this deck differ from a standard Rider-Waite-Smith deck?
The structure is the same, but the imagery is softer and more fantastical. Instead of one continuous world, you see five separate groups, each with its own element and style. That gives the cards an extra layer of symbolism you can interpret for yourself.
Are the rose gold edges fragile?
They are printed, not stamped. With intensive use they may become slightly less vivid over time, but that is the case with any deck with coloured edges. For daily use they hold up fine.
