The deck was created by Jody Boginski Barbessi and Karen Boginski. They took the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith structure as a starting point and layered angelic symbolism over it. The Major Arcana feature specific archangels, the Minor Arcana are populated with unnamed guardian angels. The court cards carry the faces of historical figures who embody the energy of Page, Knight, Queen or King.
The imagery is classical and devotional. Warm earth tones, gold accents, tight compositions, figures in historical dress. The artwork is detailed without becoming cluttered. Everything breathes reverence for the old masters.
The cards have gilded edges, which strengthens the sacred character. The size is 70 x 120 mm, standard tarot dimensions. The cardstock feels solid. The box is finished with gold foil and keeps everything neatly together.
