Two hundred cards, each bearing one word. No images, no symbolism, just the name of a value. The Inner Compass Deck by Teal Swan is built on one question: what do you stand for?
Not a traditional oracle, but a practical tool for self-insight and making choices.

Most oracle cards work with images. This deck does the opposite. Each card shows one word in a clean design: courage, compassion, playfulness, integrity. No symbols, no interpretations. Just the question underneath: does this matter to you?
The Inner Compass Deck is designed by Teal Swan and published by Watkins Publishing. It contains two hundred cards, delivered in a sturdy storage box together with an 80-page guidebook. The weight is 1.36 kg. This is not a compact deck.
The cards are minimal. Each word sits on a neutral background, no decoration or distraction. The power lies in what the word triggers, not in what is printed on it.
You can use the cards in different ways. Draw one for a daily focus. Lay out ten and sort them by order of importance. Use them in conversation to name what you are missing or seeking. The guidebook gives background on each of the two hundred values and describes ways to work with them.
Because the deck has no fixed system, you set your own pace and application. Some people use it as a reflection tool during coaching sessions. Others draw three cards weekly and let them guide their decisions.
Lay out ten cards at random and arrange them in order of what feels most important right now. The way you sort reveals where your attention goes.
This deck is built for self-insight, not prediction. It works well for coaches, therapists and people working with values exploration. Also suitable if you simply want to know what you truly stand for, without needing a spiritual framework around it.
The language is direct and clear. No esoteric terms, just universal values that everyone recognizes. That makes it accessible, even if you have never worked with oracle cards before.
Teal Swan is an author and spiritual teacher. Her work focuses on emotional healing and consciousness, with emphasis on shadow integration and authenticity. The Inner Compass Deck is a direct translation of that approach: no detours, just the question of what counts for you.
Does this deck work without the guidebook?
Yes. The cards are usable on their own. The guidebook provides background and suggestions, but you can also just draw and see what a word brings up for you.
How does this differ from a traditional oracle deck?
Traditional oracle cards give messages or images that you interpret. This deck gives you words that force you to take a position: is this important to me or not? It is more direct and more personal.
