Kalat Cards - 52 weeks, 4 seasons, 1 system
Most oracle cards do not follow the calendar. This deck does. Kalat Cards consists of 52 cards, one for each week of the year. It begins at Yule, the winter solstice, and moves through spring and summer into autumn and the next winter.
Dennis Kalat, a Dutch-Swiss medium, designed the system around the seasons and their phases. Each season holds 13 cards. Every card carries symbols that show whether you are at the beginning, middle or end of a phase. That makes readings more concrete: you can see where you stand in the rhythm of the year.
What you see on the cards
The imagery comes from illustrator Inge Laan. Her style is fairytale-like, with warm colours and a soft line. The illustrations take place in the Kingdom of Kalat, a fantasy world that runs as a narrative through the entire deck.
The markings are small and clear: a drop for the beginning of a phase, a flower for the middle, a leaf for the end. Those symbols sit subtly in the corner, so they do not distract from the image but remain easy to recognise during a reading.
How you work with it
The deck works well for weekly reflections. Pull a card every Sunday or Monday and read which theme is central that week. The 136-page guidebook describes each card and offers spreads aligned with the seasons.
The deck includes three bonus cards. These are portraits of deceased people from Dennis Kalat's own circle. He designed them as a bridge to the spiritual world, for moments when you need contact or comfort. They are not part of the 52 weekly cards but are meant for separate use.
At the start of each season, pull all 13 cards for that season, lay them out in order and see what story unfolds. That gives you a readable picture of what the coming weeks hold.

Dennis Kalat is a medium who grew up between the Netherlands and Switzerland. His work is influenced by Scandinavian nature and the Alps. Those landscapes return in the atmosphere of the deck: space, cold, warmth, transitions.
The three bonus cards are personal. He added them as a tribute to people he has lost and as a tool for others seeking that connection.
