Lotería Remedios Oracle - 54 cards with healing messages from the curandera tradition
The Mexican Lotería game is a familiar sight: colourful cards with recognisable symbols, played at markets and family gatherings. This oracle deck takes those symbols but shifts the focus from luck to healing.
Xelena González wrote the texts, José Sotelo Yamasaki drew the cards. Each of the 54 cards carries a remedio, a healing message rooted in the tradition of curanderas, the healers from Mexican and Mesoamerican culture.
What you see on the cards
The illustrations combine two visual traditions. On one hand the vibrant colours and folklore of Mexican folk art. On the other a calming Zen aesthetic that reflects Yamasaki's Japanese heritage.
Familiar symbols such as La Sirena and La Luna take on a different meaning than in the classic Lotería game. Each image comes with a short, poetic text that invites you to pause and consider a specific theme or question.
The guidebook offers detailed descriptions for each card and explains how each symbol functions as a remedio. It also includes spreads that help you place the cards in a larger context.
How this deck works
This is not a prediction tool in the classic sense. The cards are meant to restore balance, examine patterns and provide insight into what is happening right now. That makes them useful for reflection, ritual and daily practice.
Many users draw one card in the morning and let the message accompany them throughout the day. The texts are compact enough to remember, yet dense enough to reveal new layers as the day unfolds.
Draw one card when you are stuck on a question. Read the remedio aloud and pause before responding. The text asks for a different sense of time than a quick yes-or-no.

Questions we often get
Do I need to know the Lotería game to use this deck?
No. The symbols come from the traditional game, but the guidebook explains each archetype and its associated meaning in full. Prior knowledge is not required.
How does this deck differ from a classic oracle deck?
This deck focuses specifically on remedios, healing messages from the curandera tradition. The cultural anchoring in Mexican healing practices and the combination of two visual traditions give it a different approach than most oracle decks.
